Kudos and Honors

"{Brian was} the most prolific author on letstalkbitcoin.com last year and powered many of our biggest scoops!"
-Adam B. Levine, Editor in Chief of Let's Talk Bitcoin

Brian Cohen's Articles "U.S. Navy Preparing Bitcoin Battalion" (source) and "User's Bitcoins Seized by DEA" (source) are the top cited articles for Bitcoin Magazine and Let's Talk Bitcoin! respectively according to Google.

I break the news, I don’t just report on it.

I will always give credit and/or link back to authors and venues that break the news first.  However, most (if not all) of my articles do not cite a news source on the main subject because I do investigative journalism and brought an “open secret” to the public forum by reporting on it.  Said another way, I broke the news.  As such my story has become part of the narrative and would appreciate it that bloggers and journalists cite my work by either crediting me and/or the venue I wrote for and/or providing a link back to my original research. Most of my writing is link intensive and I often link to other research so that my readers can get a better understanding of the subject matter.

This kind of acknowledgement helps build better relationships in our industry.  As a freelance writer I am always interested in collaborating.
